The KiltRental.com Story
KiltRental.com is a spin-off of the famous Scotch House in San Francisco (Post Street) and Carmel-by-the-Sea (Ocean Avenue), the oldest Scottish Import store in the USA, established in 1946. Colleen is the second generation in the business.
The rental of kilts, along with the entire Scottish Highland dress, necessitated a specialty store to better serve its customers, and KiltRental.com was born. We relocated to Colorado Springs (home of NORAD), Colorado, one of the nations great communication and transportation hubs, in order to quickly service the entire USA, and Canada, as well as to quickly receive shipment from Scotland.
Customers who rented our kilts were impressed by the extraordinary quality, and began to purchase their kilts from us. Today we are one of the largest, if not the largest, importer of kilts from Scotland.
Our kilts are not made in factories, but each kilt in skillfully made by a master kiltmaker, in his private shop. These master kiltmakers have been making kilts from four to five generations. Needless to say, there is a lot of love and pride of workmanship that goes into making our kilts.
